Three weeks in ONE blog post, Memorial day, New friends, FLOOD!

Oh my goodness..
Last week was absolutely horrible,
and then the holiday weekend threw me for another loop,
then my house flooded,
and then.. I realized Fielding had most of our memorial day photos
on his phone..
BUT FINALLY HERE IS THE POST!
;)

So...
A couple weeks ago,
Kruz wasn't sleeping the greatest
because of a double ear infection,
and I was of course hating it
because my eyes felt like grapes he was stepping on..
But, on Monday (May 12th)
He actually slept in,
and then I made lunch at like 11:30,
(which is an hour before normal lunch time)
and he seriously fell asleep face down in his pizza,
and after trying to wake him up a couple times,
it wasn't happening so I enjoyed having him
catch up on his sleep. :)

It was great mommy time!
Later that day we went to swim lessons,
and it was actually really fun.
Kruz is actually getting so much better.
Also, this swim place has a very well trained dog that sits inside with its owner.
At first Kruz would scream bloody murder at this huge dog,
when it would even get close..
But this time he walked right up and started petting and hugging it.

So, not only are we making progress on swimming,
I think I am finally knocking down that dog fear,
and hoping a dog wont ruin it along the way. ;)

On Tuesday I seriously chopped my hair off.
( 10 inches of hair to be exact!)
and what is even more awesome is,
I did it ALONE..
I grabbed scissors and started chopping away.
I did have Fielding come in the last couple minutes to make sure the back was straight.
It turned out okay,
and hey.. I didn't even have to spend a penny.
Now that is what I am talking about! :)
Here is

But before all that hair business,
Fielding came home from work
and demanded that we go buy him new work boots because his were
a little nasty, and soggy from the rain that day.
We went and they were having a buy one get one half off sale,
which is awesome because we spend over $100 on work boots every couple months,
so hey.. I wouldn't mind saving $50. ;)
But we did have to get Kruz new shoes,
and of course he has to have cool ones,

So $60 went towards two new shoes,
that Kruz now can call his.

He loves to put them on mismatch also..
:)

On Wednesday,
we took it easy.
We cleaned the house spotless,
(kind of like a spring clean.. From ceiling to floor)
I love it when I wake up with energy like that,
because who doesn't like a clean house. :)
and then, I dyed my hair..
I know you are probably guessing,
by myself!
So what..
a great new hair do
for about $20..
Hey,
I will TAKE it! :)

Then on Thursday,
I was overly lazy, and wanted to actually do something
with my mothers day present.
(a sewing machine if you guys don't remember..)
and so I picked out fabric to make a quilt for Mr. Kruz,
and then did my usual grocery shopping.

While shopping, Kruz totally fell asleep
in the cart.
(he has never EVER fell asleep anywhere but his bed for over a year..)
So this week was AMAZING! :)
Kruz also played outside and ended up scuffing up his knee..
He usually is REALLY tough when he falls and barely cries.
This time he just kept pointing to his bleeding knee and didn't cry
until I put a bandaid on..

Lets just say he really doesn't like bandaids.

I think he might just like to admire his battle wounds.

Later that night I made Navaho tacos.
They were delicious,
and while I was cutting olives,
Kruz was munching on a WHOLE can..

But he did share a couple with his dad!

Friday,
he woke up with a little cough.
I started putting essential oils on him right away,
and put my sewing machine,
and some of my quilt fabric to the test,
and came up with a rice bag.
It was actually really easy and hey,
it kicked the cold in one day!
All I did was put a few oils on his chest and back and then during
nap time and bedtime I would heat it up,
(just to a little warm of course)
and put it on his chest while he slept
until it got cold.
He loved it and cuddled up next to it..
:)
When Fielding got home we went out to dinner,
and enjoyed the weekend with our little family.

Then Last Monday..
The 19th was the start of a STINKING crazy week!
and I am not even exaggerating.
Fielding seriously would go to work at 6 am,
and come home at like 9-11 all week.
So, it was what I like to call..
"single mom week."
Monday went good,
swim lessons were good,
and I had things under control
and even ordered pizza for dinner
when Fielding walked in the door
a little earlier than he was supposed too.
So we were excited and spent the evening doing family home evening..
and get this,
Fielding even planned the lesson!

IT WAS AWESOME!
Oh, and I found out that Kruz is secretly a fan of eating toothpaste.
He would seriously hide it from me.

I even caught him trying to hide in the pantry while sucking on the tube.
Such a stinker sometimes..

Tuesday we went to the park
with a few ladies and kids,
and Kruz had a blast.
He LOVES slides!
annnnddd...
Then we came home and hung out,
and enjoyed each other
and I had Kruz in bed a few hours before Fielding walked in the door.

Wednesday came around and we just hung out.
We had no plans so we just laid around..
Since it was day two without seeing his daddy,
Kruz was definitely not a happy camper when he kept seeing
our family picture on our wall.
He would cry and cry for "Dada."
I just had to keep on giving him lots of loves and change the subject.

That night I kept Kruz up a little bit later while we had a movie night,
and then he was almost asleep I heard Fielding come through the door,
I knew that I could tell Kruz and he could see his dad after two long days,
or I could just continue to have him fall asleep and have maybe a couple more days go by..
So, of course I told him,
and he was jumping for joy and showing his daddy absolutely everything.
I was really glad I made that decision..
even if it did become a really late night.
;)

Thursday we had a cute little play date at this place here
with tons of inflatables.
It was really fun,
and Kruz' neighborhood crush was there.

It was once again a really REALLY late night for the guys.

Friday, Fielding and his crew inflated the dome here.
He told me it was noon,
so I went out to the job site,
and by two they were just barely starting.

So I was juggling a VERY tired and hungry baby,
and trying to be a supportive wife.
I ended up leaving in the middle of it because it was SOOO hot!
but, it was on the news later that night,
and Fielding took lots of pictures,
so I was of course still the supportive wife telling him that he was such a
stud man. ;)
anddd.. He actually got home at 6ish.
So we went out to dinner at Olive Garden,
the service was ridiculous and we ended up being there for about 2 hours..

Saturday I had this sewing class that Fielding got me for mothers day.
It was at Joanns,
and Joanns here is in the mall.
So, here I am..
Carrying my sewing machine,
REALLY excited to be out of the house for 2 1/2 hours
just being able to sew without having to do anything else..
I was walking around the mall with a stinking sewing machine.
People were looking at me like
"what the heck is that lady doing?"
but I was on a mission.
I WAS SOOOOO EXCITED.
I walk into Joanns,
and make my way to the classroom in the very back.
A worker greeted me and told me
that the class got cancelled.
ARE YOU KIDDING?
Thanks for the phone call...
:/
So I am not going to lie,
I drove home and sat in my car for about 10 minutes
enjoying the silence that I haven't had all week.
Its SOOO hard to not have any family around,
and you seriously can't just get away ever.
Kruz is 18 months old,
and I have only been without him probably for 3 hours is the longest.
and it was probably only twice that I can remember..
So really,
this momma needs a break.
but..
It can wait until we are by family again I suppose.
:)
When I got home Fielding felt bad and sent me off to my room
so I could finally finish the quilt that I haven't really had time to work on.

It turned out pretty cute. I did mess up a few times,
but not knowing what the freak I was doing,
it turned out great! :)

Sunday we went to church,

and then made our way home..
We sat around and then I realized it was memorial day weekend
and we had NOTHING planned.
So I got planning.
Kruz is OVERLY obsessed with lions,
so I decided that we would go to this drive thru safari they have in Arkansas.
It was about an hour and a half away.
I decided that I would invite this family that is also from Idaho/Utah
and living here..
They are the Shelleys and they are stinking an adorable little family.
Her husband doesn't work with Fielding if your wondering
so its seriously a coincidence that we both live here,
and actually met. :)
They didn't have plans either so we made the plans and we were set for an eventful memorial day.

Monday we all woke up pretty early,
and got ready.
We left on our way to Gentry Arkansas.
The drive was beautiful,
and we passed tons of little camp sites and resorts.

They also had tons of little caverns.
So we enjoyed the scenery,
and will hopefully make it back there one of these weekends and go camping. :)
We made it to the safari,
and went into the MASSIVE petting zoo first.

I bought a bag of animal food,
but I seriously thought Kruz would be so frightened of all the animals..
because seriously,
he is scared of dang dogs,
why wouldn't he be goats, giraffes, monkeys, pigs, and kangaroos.
He went around and fed everything,

(**For some reason, I didn't get pictures of him feeding the animals
outside of the fence.. I am really bummed!**)

and then would come back and pull on my pant leg
and ask for more..

It was adorably cute.
We then got to go in this pen with monkeys.
Okay.. The guy said they weren't monkeys,
and the were lemurs..

So we saw the lemurs.
At the end my friends little girl started crying because
she wanted to stay with the cute little things,
and they started doing this weird barking thing.
I am really surprised the kids didn't get scared because it was really darn weird. ;)
Afterwards we went to the giraffe barn.
At first we got up on the top of the platform and the giraffes seriously ran away from me.
and then a worker came over and gave us some lettuce to feed it.

It was amazing.
I am not going to lie,
I stayed far away from that mischievous tongue,
but Kruz LOVED it.
He was actually quite sad when I ran out of lettuce.
Then we made our way to the turtles,
and actually monkeys.
We saw this chimp
that would mimic your moves.
It was amazing.
After wards we had to walk by the reptile cage,
and they had two snakes just sitting there on the ground.
and one was actually pretty big.
So yes, I was a little freaked out
and Fielding kept getting really close
with Kruz in his arms..
YIKES.
I was one of those moms that were standing 100 feet away
yelling at Fielding saying "Fielding, nooooooo!"
:)
I am not ashamed, and my 18 month old is still alive. ;)
We then went to see all the other monkeys.
After that we left to go eat a picnic lunch before the drive thru part.

During the drive thru part this car in front of us was feeding the animals..
They had MILLIONS of signs saying
"DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS!"
So, of course
all the animals were by the road,
which was cool..
except for the emu part that was trying to peck at my window.

It was surely scary.
I still would have to say that Kruz' favorite part was feeding the goats,
and the lions, tigers, and bears..
OH MY!
I just had to add that in.

It was such a great time.
We had so much fun!
On the way home,
it started down pouring.
So it was awesome that we left when we did or else we would of been SOAKED!
We made it back to Joplin,
and Fielding realized he probably needed to go change the fuel on the inflator.
Kruz was asleep so we decided just to run out and do that..
We made it to Webb City without it starting to rain yet,
Fielding got out to unlock the gates and BAM,
It was raining harder than ever.
He fueled up the inflators and seriously
came in SOAKED.
Not a part of him was dry.
I felt bad because I didn't even bring jackets for us,
because it was a really warm day.
So he just got to freeze the whole ride home with the A/C on.
Later we met up with the Shelleys again.
We went to their house for a BBQ.
It was great fun,
and they sure do know how to make a mean hamburger.

I was in charge of the fruit tray..
What I do best,
I guess. ;)
It was delicious,
and GREAT to actually associate with adults.
and Kruz got to play with their two young girls.
 So all in all,
our Memorial day was great fun!

On Tuesday we laid around,
while I did tons of laundry..
and I actually got pretty far on writing this same post your reading right now..
but..
during nap time I heard something splashing
so I decided to go find out what it was..
It was my washer leaking water EVERYWHERE.
I had about 2 inches of water in my laundry room, dining room, kitchen, and a coat closet.
AHHHHH!
So, this post probably would of been done Tuesday,
but with that thrown in..
It definitely caught me off guard.
What do you even do when you have that much water in your house..?
I just took every blanket and towel we have and started soaking up water.
Luckily that helped TONS,
and when it came to the carpeted area
I was glad I had my carpet shampooer because that sucked a lot of the water
out of the carpet.
While I was cleaning I realized that Kruz' swim lessons got rescheduled for that day,
and I surely wasn't going to be able to clean this up,
and make it to swim class on time.
So I had Fielding call them.
They were bums about it, and said I couldn't reschedule because I already resceduled.
UUMMMMM,
you guys made me reschedule,
because you weren't opened Monday
and I didn't know that
my washer was going to do this..
PSYCHOS!
anyways,
soo..
I got most of it done,
but my carpet was still soggy and I rushed to get Kruz ready,
our pool stuff packed,
and ran out the door.
IT WAS A DISASTER.
but, its all good now.
HOPEFULLY.
So, now I am super nervous to do laundry,
and when I do,
I have to check up on it like 30 times a batch.
but hey..
It wont happen again hopefully.
One good thing did come from Tuesday though..
My car is finally registered in Idaho,
so it gets to finally wear Idaho plates..

Later that day Fielding got home,
and we ended up just going to chickfila for dinner,
because I definitely wasn't ready to cook
after that EXTREMELY long day.

Wednesday,
Oh perfect wednesday
was my birthday!
I know..
I feel DARN old.
I am now the big

 23
I know I am not that old to some of you,
but its weird to think I am my aunts and uncles age when I was like 4.
Its just weird to realize that out of no where you are an adult
with a screaming talking toddler running around.
but my Birthday was a lot better than Tuesday.
Remember that Mothers day plate
Kruz and I made while Fielding was out of town?
Well I got that..
The place finally stopped firing it,
and I got it. :)

It turned out cute.
I could of done a lot cuter stuff,
but with an 18 month old in a store with tons of breakable pottery,
I wasn't putting him down for anything!
Anyways so Kruz and I just hung out in our PJs and played all day.
Around 3 I got a flower delivery,
and it was amazing!
They were absolutely beautiful.
and my in laws are some of the best people ever!

Kruz loved smelling them, and trying to touch them..
He might just be a romantic man when he grows up..
Hopefully I will teach him well.
;)
When Fielding got home he showed up with a cake.
He said "well, someone else beat me to the flower idea..
so I just had to get you a cake."
It was still special,
and I didn't have to make my own cake.
So thats a plus. ;)
Fielding got home and we went out to dinner,
and then he surprised me with going to Joanns..
I thought he was getting me more fabric,
so I was ULTRA excited!
but little did I know,
he had something up his sleeve,
and it ended up making me ULTRA ULTRA excited!
He got me a silhouette cameo.
(for you that don't know what that is, its like a cricut, but better.)
(for those of you that dont know what a cricut is, it is a paper,
vinyl, fabric.. pretty much it cuts everything in designs, fonts..)
IT IS AMAZING!
After that I went to grab some paper,
so I could try this bad boy out..
Kruz spotted mickey mouse paper from seriously 100 feet away.
So, I let him hold and look at it.
Fielding tried taking it away when we were making our way to the check out register,
but Kruz started crying.
Seriously..
Why not just let him have a 99 cent paper.
So we went home,
put Kruz to sleep and I started playing away.
I first made Kruz these mickey mouse magnets,
with his mickey mouse paper he had to have..

I had a blast,
but Fielding was definitely ready to watch our show we have been watching lately.
Psych.
no really.. thats what its called.
So I put it away for the night.
 It was a great birthday..
I barely even cleaned my house. :)
 or did anything!
I did get ready though for dinner of course.

Thursday (yesterday) was a busy day..
I had cleaning to do,
laundry to do after my big fiasco,
and of course I had to play with my cameo.
So I woke up when Fielding did and got working on something before Kruz woke up..
and when Kruz went back down for his nap,
I was back on it.

:)
I just have way too many good ideas for stuff I can finally make,
that my poor cameo is probably TIRED!
But.. I was happy. :)
and after Kruz woke up,
and I was trying to finish everything up,
he was a very good little boy,
and sat on my bed and watched mickey mouse.
I am definitely one lucky momma!

 Fielding got home,
and the house was clean, dinner was being made..
So he was a happy camper,
and we was in awe at the cool things I made..
ALL BY MYSELF!
We had cake last night instead of my birthday,
because my birthday dinner made us STUFFED!
I had Kruz help blow out the candles,
and then he was mad because we wanted to blow more out,
so we let Kruz have one to blow out..
Now that was hilarious.
He kept blowing air up, and so it wasn't even flickering the candle.
but hey,
pretty soon I wont have these cute things to admire
because he is going to be a boring teenager that doesn't do anything cute anymore.

Today we dont have any plans.
So I can't really update you on today..
haha.
But hopefully it will be a great day!

Hope you enjoyed this SUPER long post.
by my next post I might have a new family member!
woot woot!

**Kruz is now awake,
so he has something to say..

 dm,mbchfkddfdjdhdye7efufidieirdififuut753of     d f zx x cv dbfv

and then he started a movie on the computer just by touching a few keys..
Now that is pure genius!**

Siren testing, 18 months, and Mothers Day!

So last Monday morning,
we were enjoying mommy son time when tornado sirens started blaring.
It was once again beautiful outside,
so I went out on the balcony and was seeing what the heck was going on
and if I should be freaking out.
I am not going to lie,
I was shaking,
and pure adrenaline was pumping through my little veins..
I called Fielding and I think these were my exact words,
"Fielding, EMERGENCY EMERGENCY! Tornado sirens are going off
and I dont know what to do, no one else is running out of their apartments.."
He works the next town over, so he told me the skies were still completely clear.
So, after freaking out the sirens turned off,
and I asked my neighbor and she assured me that they go off every monday for like a test run.
It was actually comforting to know that they do test to make sure
they work, but what if we had bad weather and it was for sure
not a warning, and people were so used to the warning they didn't take it seriously..
Pretty darn scary.
I have been waiting for it to happen this morning, but nothing yet..
So hopefully its not broken. ;)
Only I'd be worried about that, right?
I am a stinking worry wart.

So we went to swim lessons later that day..
Our teacher just finished college and so she is moving away so we got a new swim teacher..
Well, the one that substituted,
(thank goodness she isn't the actual new teacher)
Wasn't that great..
She kept telling Kruz to blow bubbles in the water,
and that if he didn't do it,
we couldnt do anything else..
NEWS FLASH,
swim lessons aren't cheap, my child is 18 months old,
and he isn't going to do absolutely everything you want him too.
So, after like 5 minutes of just sitting there hearing her tell him to blow bubbles
a million times,
I finally grabbed him and started doing other things that other teacher
taught me to do.
I was definitely not happy with that teacher,
and of course I called this morning to make sure it wasn't going to be her again.
haha.

Later that day we painted my mother,
and Fieldings mother a nice mirror for mothers day..
It went with a little note that said,
"Grandma,
Just so you can see how beautiful you are,
each and every day!
Love, Kruz
xoxo"
It actually turned out way cute,
and there is nothing better than getting something
made personally for you.

( I actually had a really smart idea, and put saran wrap on the table before painting.
It was such easy clean up!)

Tuesday came around and we went to this music class.
You actually sign up for semesters,
and they give you an instrument and everything.
It's a little pricey, but I need to put Kruz into a few activities
that he can enjoy other kiddies.
So, We went to check it out and make sure he would like it
since the new semester starts in June.
It was so much fun.
He loved it, and watching him try to jump was possibly
the funniest thing I have ever seen.
So, we are definitely signing up,
and I think it would be great to get him into music at this age..
(he already loves to dance and sing)

Then we colored pictures of Mickey Mouse,
and Donald Duck,
and sent them out and hopefully will be getting replies soon. :)
If you want the address its;

Kruz definitely felt pretty cool
walking to the mail box
with the envelopes!

Wednesday we were pretty boring,
and we just hung around in our jammies,

and I shopped for a tornado bag.

I am definitely a lot better off now if there is going to be one.
I got a cool new weather radio too,
that winds up instead of taking batteries.

You bet your bottom dollar I listened to
every second for the first two days.
I had to know how reliable it was going to be. ;)
But my bag is about the same size as Kruz.
I am definitely not playing around..

Thursday was stormy,
and Kruz was officially
18 MONTHS OLD!
Can you believe it?
A WHOLE YEAR AND A HALF OLD!
I seriously didn't cry,
but I was a little taken back as I watched my baby boy walk into
the doctors office,
and got up on the bench waiting for the doctor.
What the heck??
But he hasn't gained a pound in 3 months,
but has gotten like an inch taller.
So, hey..
I think he will finally start thinning out,
and wont be such a tank.
ha ha.
So Fielding had to come home early.
It was pretty darn stormy,
until Fielding came home,
and then of course the storms passed.
So we ended up going to the mall
and Fielding got new pants,
and then got me a mothers day present.

:)

On Friday,
We had a lazy day,
Oh, and I found a baby batman in my drawers..
Isn't he cute?

and Fielding had to go at noon to Virginia for a business trip
We were able to go out to lunch before he left,
and then we just hung out and were lazy the rest of the day.
After Kruz went to sleep,
I watched some hulu,
and munched on some popcorn and skittles..

 YUUUMM!

On Saturday we woke up bright and early,
(Kruz' new thing is to wake up at like 5 am.. So by bright and early, its really bright and EARLY!)
I got both of us ready and our mommy son day started.
We went to ihop.
It was so much fun to actually get to enjoy Kruz,
and be able to laugh and giggle together.

Towards the ending of our meal a mother walked in with her husband and son.
Her son was disabled and was about 30 years old.
He could barely walk and there the mother was holding him up so he could.
She also helped him sit down, and gave him sips of water and fed him.
He would randomly yell, and people would just look over and stare.
The mother would just talk and laugh with her son,
and enjoy his presence.
It was just about the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
Maybe its the fact that I am now a mommy,
but I started bawling my eyes out.
I tried to hold it in,
but of course the lump in my throat got bigger and pretty soon it was to big to hold in.
I told my waitress I wanted to pay for their meal,
and to tell the mother  Happy Mothers Day when she told them.
That mom was the most amazing example to the mother I want to be.
I want to be able to laugh and enjoy Kruz for the rest of my life.
I want to support him in whatever comes his way,
and be able to show my love for him to each and every person
on this planet.
So, we went home, and waited for a couple hours.
I was still bawling my eyes out when I would randomly think
about that amazing mother and son.

Then at 10:00 the pottery store opened,
and Kruz and I went and painted a plate.

I forgot to take a picture of the finished plate,
but I will get it in like a week, and will definitely show you guys
the final result.
I am crossing my fingers it turned out. :)

We then came home and spent some mother son time
playing in Kruz' room and having fun with each other.

Fielding got home after Kruz' bedtime,
and told me all about his trip,
and then we went to bed..

Sunday morning of course my little monkey boy came stumbling
in our room at 5 am
yelling jibberish.
Fielding was such an amazing daddy and took Kruz so I could sleep a little.
About at 6 am I heard some pans clanging,
so I decided to get up.
I got to enjoy watching the stud I married 3 1/2 years ago making me breakfast,
and juggling Kruz.
For those of you who know Fielding and I very well,
we dont like pancakes, waffles.. you know, normal breakfast meals.
So,
Fielding whipped up some breakfast burritos,
(my favorite)
and they were delicious.
We finished eating and then I went and got ready,
and then my boys got ready,
and we went to church.
 MAAANNNNNN,
was Kruz a stink bum face.
He has never acted up in sacrament,
and leave it to mothers day for him to throw a little fit.
He also has allergies
So his nose was running a little bit,
so we didn't take him to nursery and left early.
It was sad because we left right before all the primary children sang their cute mommy songs.
But,
maybe next year..
right? ;)
I am so super lucky to be able to say I am Kruz' mom.
He makes me the happiest I have ever been,
and amazes me everyday.
I am super glad that we got to spend all of Saturday just enjoying eachother.
It was great bonding time,
and he definitely made me feel like a special woman.
I am so thankful for the mothers that are in my life,
whether they are my mom, mother in law, step mom, sisters, cousins, aunts, grandmas, friends..
You all are very special people,
to be able to put everything for you on the back burner and focus on your pride and joys.
I love being a mommy,
and am so glad I get to be one for the rest of my life.
